David Richart Committee
David Richart Committee
This committee develops special projects to promote the just treatment of Kentucky’s abused and neglected children. For example, the David Richart Committee, established in 2012, has held public forums to educate the public about the workings of the child welfare system and sponsored an amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief to Kentucky’s appellate court supporting transparency (open records) in child fatality review. The committee is named for the nationally recognized late (2011) founder of Kentucky Youth Advocates who was mentored by NCJW, Louisville Section members using materials from NCJW National.
